At Pratilipi, we do not claim entire copyrights from authors. When our team seeks any rights, a comprehensive decision is made, and we provide an email explaining a simplified version of the contract terms. We prioritize transparency in our communications.

At Pratilipi, we assist authors in understanding the different types of rights available to them, which can be granted to others. For instance, we acquire adoption rights (the right to adapt a story into various formats such as comics, web series, books, audio, etc.) for specific periods. If we aim to fully acquire a story, this is explicitly stated in the contract beforehand.

Authors should refrain from relinquishing complete copyrights, as we at Pratilipi believe it is a fundamental right of the author. Additionally, many writers may not anticipate the future landscape. With the evolution of Artificial Intelligence, stories can soon be translated into 20 languages on platforms like Pratilipi, enabling authors to earn from each language. Rights such as audio, film, and comics can be granted separately, allowing authors to earn from diverse streams.
